Description
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Program Operations (DPO), the Newcomer Services Coordinator (NCS) is responsible for the overall planning and management of implementing the Communities In Schools' (CIS) model of integrated student support. The Newcomer Services Coordinator will provide comprehensive, individualized, strength-based, and outcome focused services to mixed status families (i.e., immigrant and refugee). The Newcomer Services Coordinator will identify and assess the needs of enrolled students and their families connecting them to resources. The Newcomer Services Coordinator position works directly with students, families, and school staff to improve attendance, academics, and behavior in order to support academic promotion through high school graduation and post- secondary plans.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, people and collaboration skills, business acumen, exemplary work ethic, be driven, organized, self-motivated, a skilled facilitator and problem solver. Ability to cross cultural boundaries to build and maintain strong working relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management: Advocate for, coordinate and provide identified services to students and their families.
Total Quality Standards (TQS): Implement the Communities In Schools model of integrated student services in compliance with TQS.
Partnership Development & Relationship with Community Resources: Work to build and maintain internal and external organizational relationships/partnerships

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is located within the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality are required. Regular and satisfactory performance including meeting all process deadlines and stated deliverables is required.
