Job Summary
Columbus State University is inviting applications for part-time faculty pool positions in Teacher Leadership. Part-time faculty in the fully online Teacher Leadership program at CSU have an opportunity to serve in two primary capacities:
Teaching online graduate courses. Examples of these courses include Diversity and Advocacy in Education; Reading and Writing in the Content Areas; Differentiating Instruction in the Content Areas; and other courses in the program, as needed.
Supervising students in the program Internship. Students are required to complete a two-semester program Internship, during which they design, implement, and assess the effectiveness of multiple professional learning opportunities for P-12 educators, in alignment with the Georgia Teacher Leader Standards. Supervision of students is conducted virtually.
Responsibilities
  • Follow approved syllabi and curriculum/course outline, as provided by the College.
  • Teach assigned course(s).
  • Present material in an engaging and positive fashion.
  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Respond to student communication and provide constructive and robust feedback in a timely manner based on rubrics provided.
  • Support student success.
  • Evaluate student progress.
  • Reach out to students who are struggling or are high-risk.
  • Supplement student material when needed.
  • Refer students to appropriate college sources for information on counseling and other student services.
  • Maintain student records and grades.
  • Post grades within the prescribed deadlines.
  • Adhere to and meet all established university and accreditation (SACSCOC, GaPSC, etc.) instructional policies, guidelines, and standards.
Required Qualifications
Education Specialist (EdS) degree in Teacher Leadership or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
At least 3 years of successful teaching experience in public schools at the Induction. Any years of teaching completed while Provisionally certified cannot be counted toward the 3-year minimum.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in Teacher Leadership or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
At least 3 years of successful experience as a teacher leader in public schools. Any years of teaching completed while Provisionally certified cannot be counted toward the 3-year minimum.
Georgia Standard Professional Certification in the field of Teacher Leadership (earned via degree or endorsement program).
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
