Colonial Distributing is Hiring a Sales Administrative Assistant Near Tampa, FL

With the recent creation of National Convenience Distributors (NCD), Colonial Distributing is proud to be one of five divisions that is now known as the largest full-line convenience store distributorship strictly servicing the Northeast.

You will learn about all the brands we represent, selling and merchandising techniques, and will be cross trained in all departments within the organization.

Sales support provides the sales team with well-qualified leads through researching the market and cold calling. Secondly, Sales Support provides administrative support to the sales manager and team.

Essential Functions

  • Work with the marketing function and sales team to generate leads, and assign those leads to sales reps and managers, based on their appropriate area.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the HLA product set.
  • Work with the sales team to provide support to their activities.
  • Regularly maintain and update internal phone and contact lists.
  • Manage and input all of the Sales Team’s payroll.
  • Set up interviews for Sales and Merchandising departments.
  • Set up arrangements for new hire training.
  • Is involved in setting up the monthly sales meetings; gather packets and all necessary info, distribute the info, and edit all sales goals and promotional money for the upcoming month.
  • Will be heavily involved in HLA’s trade shows twice a year; handles all traveling arrangements for incoming sales reps and vendors by negotiating rates with hotels, creates contact/guest list and ensures all info is updated regularly, creates badges for guests, and sets up the lunch-in.
  • Sets up travel arrangements and guest list for quarterly reviews.
  • Regularly sets up most, if not all, travel arrangements for Sales team.
  • Manages, maintains, and approves billing/accounts for travel expenses.
  • Arranges Sales rep and vendor ride-along based on location.
  • Sends out important memos, like price increases, to all areas that will be affected.
  • Sets up printer repairs.
  • Handles outgoing mail for Sales and IT
  • Goes through reports from IT and purchasing dept. to gather important information to be sent out in memos that are needed for the show, the fill the gap program, and some sales tool information (profitability, margins, etc.)
  • Collects and combines various reports from Sales force to submit to V.P. of Sales
  • Other various special projects from ownership, V.P. of Sales, and/or tax dept.

Hiring Requirements
Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Years of Experience:

  • 2-5 years in a sales environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and various internal departments.
  • Complete skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Heavy telephone customer contact.
  • Ability to handle difficult issues.
  • Must be able to work independently to accomplish departmental goals on time.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
