Job Description

Position Summary
Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsibility for managing, reviewing all Apprenticeship Memorandums of Understanding, agreements and financial documents for accuracy and/or further action prior to signature and approval.
  • Reviewing, coordinating and prioritizing the Coordinator's appointments and meetings.
  • Coordinating with other CSN Departments and external agencies on behalf of Apprenticeship Coordinator.
  • Requesting information, reports and briefings from other Division professional staff on behalf of the Apprenticeship Coordinator.
  • Taking minutes at high level, sometimes confidential meetings.
  • Coordinating and prioritizing the Coordinator's schedule and meetings.
  • Analyzing and prioritizing incoming requests.
  • Reviewing agreements, contracts, MOU's, purchase orders, payroll requests and other submitted paperwork for accuracy and/or further action prior to the Coordinator's approval and signature.
  • Utilizing judgement in determining what information is confidential.
  • Utilizing judgement in handling sensitive issues and interpersonal conflicts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful candidates must have at least 1 year of experience working with Registered Apprenticeship programs.
Position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding
Starting Salary
Grade 27: Step 1 -$36,790.56
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1. The College of Southern Nevada offers a competitive benefits package, including an excellent PERS retirement plan (a defined benefit plan), generous vacation & sick benefits, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and a choice between three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
