Administrative Assistant II - Office of the Registrar
Job Description

This position provides support to the Admissions and Records Assistant (A&R) III overseeing the Office of the Registrar front desk at the West Charleston Campus. Under Limited supervision, the A&R II staff member will complete daily functions encompassing various processes to meet the needs of CSN students, faculty and staff pertaining to enrollment and records retention. This individual will be required to become proficient in PeopleSoft, OnBase, Cisco Finesse, CSN's queueing system and Greymatter. Daily attendance and punctuality is expected, as is, effective written and oral communication. The position will support the Office's operations at all CSN locations, as needed and assigned, in alignment with the multi-campus model of the College. Duties Will Include:
  • Address student enrollment and educational records needs while adhering to appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Assist students, alumni, faculty and staff and explain several different processes pertaining to the Office of the Registrar, over the phone, via email and in person.
  • Protect confidential employee and customer information with the highest level of respect and professionalism.
  • Process data entry and other clerical duties as necessary.
  • Maintain student records on behalf of the Office of the Registrar.
Other Associated Factors:
  • This position requires sitting at a desk for much of the time.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.
  • This position requires some walking, bending, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • This position will require working additional hours during heavy registration periods and must be available to work at any of our three main campuses on any given day to assist with front-desk coverage.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a community college, student services setting.
  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
  • Experience working with a student information system.
  • Bilingual.
Starting Salary
Grade 25, Step 1 $34,305.84
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
