COCOPAH INDIAN TRIBE is Hiring an IT Help Desk Technician Near Somerton, AZ

Salary:
$33,907/Year-DOE

Summary

Under limited supervision, provides first line assistance, troubleshooting and problem resolution for routine end-user information technology problems. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically. May aid staff concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, applications, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responds to initial user requests for routine help desk assistance, including troubleshooting and resolving user issues.
    • Answer user inquires regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
    • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuing proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
    • Understanding of operating systems and software applications.
    • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
    • Provides level 1 support for daily IT operations.
    • Develop IT procedures and training materials.
    • Collaboration with other departments regarding IT requirements and recommendations.
    • Assist end users in development of their computer skills..
    • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
    • Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and tribal information.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Adaptability in learning and understanding of the Cocopah Indian Tribe’s political environment and sensitivities; ability to function effectively within that environment.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, systems and equipment. Ability to operate computer equipment and programs to publish reports and documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form to a diverse audience, and to prepare and analyze technical and administrative reports, statements and correspondence.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree in related field is preferred , completion of trade school, vocational college.
  • 1-year IT work experience or industry certifications
