Essential Job Functions:

Performs routine clerical and administrative functions such as typing, data entry, scheduling appointments and meetings, organizing, and maintaining paper and electronic files. Provides customer service over the phone, in person, and electronically. May attend meetings to record minutes and prepare them in final form for distribution. Sets up and maintains files. Retrieves and assembles information for supervisor’s use. Researches reports and records; assists in compiling data, drafting, proofreading, and processing assorted documents. Performs other financial processing work as required. Assists with office management tasks such as ordering supplies, organizing common space, and works with Airport staff as well as internal and external customers. Operates a variety of office equipment including scanner, photocopier, and computer with accompanying software. Operates a City vehicle to travel to various locations to perform work, transport or retrieve goods, and necessary errands. Coordinates issuance and maintenance of Airport Identification and Security Cards. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic; office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare documents to include spreadsheets, and self-compose business letters and memoranda; receive the public with poise, tact, patience, and courtesy; operate a variety of office equipment; utilize computer technology to store/access data and maintain records; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; read and interpret rules, follow instructions, and maintain confidentiality of materials; and type at an efficient rate of speed.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • One year experience in performing administrative/clerical work.

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Florida Class driver’s license with a good driving record as determined by the City of Winter Haven.
