South Platte Renew (SPR) is the third largest water renewal facility in Colorado and cleans nearly 20 million gallons of wastewater a day. SPR is publicly owned by the Cities of Littleton and Englewood and serves approximately 300,000 residents in Littleton, Englewood, and 19 connecting communities. The Environmental Programs Division of SPR is recruiting a Data Analyst (Water Renewal) to perform a variety of wastewater and business data management duties related to operating and management of a water renewal facility. As SPR renews water for Colorado’s future, the Data & Regulatory Programs within the SPR Environmental Programs Division is responsible for managing data and reporting for permit compliance, internal project tracking and performance metrics, treatment process tracking, environmental sustainability metrics, and public facing information.

The Environmental Programs Division of SPR is recruiting a Data Analyst (Water Renewal) to perform a variety of wastewater and business data management duties related to operating and management of a water renewal facility.
The Water Renewal Data Analyst, under the supervision of the Data & Regulatory Programs Manager, performs a variety of technical and professional-level work involving the management and analysis of diverse datasets spanning management-level reporting, financial data, SPR’s liquid and solids stream treatment processes, laboratory data, watershed data, asset management, and environmental sustainability datasets. This position bridges knowledge across multiple workgroups at SPR by making data accessible, creating data visualizations, and establishing workflows to ensure that key datasets are up to date and trusted. The ideal candidate will be proactive, exhibit high standards, have excellent data management, mathematical, analytical, and communication skills, and effectively prioritize tasks to ensure data management initiatives are advanced within the organization. This individual must excel at collaboration between varied workgroups, and be adaptable to changing trends in technology and utility management.

Education: Bachelor’s degree minimum with a coursework focus on Data Analytics, Information Technology (IT), Data Management, Data Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or similar field.
Work Experience:
Data Analyst (P4 Level) - Minimum of 3 years increasingly responsible experience in Data Analytics or related field.
Data Analyst (P5 Level) – Minimum of 5 years increasingly responsible experience in Data Analytics or related field.
Certifications and/or Licensures: Relevant industry certifications will be considered, Business Intelligence certifications (Power BI, Tableau) desired
Required Driver’s License: Valid Colorado driver’s license and a clear or acceptable MVR.
An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted.
Computer Skills – Strong skills needed to work in a high technology environment.
Communication - Strong skills required to work collaboratively across SPR divisions, communicate ideas, lead project initiatives, prepare and deliver presentations, manage consultants, and share ideas and data best practices with industry peers. Strong written skills needed to produce formal communications, project plans, and technical memorandums.
Analytical - Advanced skills needed for data analysis, data management, data governance, data architecture, enterprise systems development, and report creation.
Project Management – Intermediate to advanced skills needed to establish priorities, develop workplans, and work collaboratively to achieve data management and data analysis goals.
General Management - Strong skills needed for resource management.
Mathematical - Strong skills needed to support data analysis efforts, and estimate budgets and work efforts for projects.
Majority of work is performed in a standard office environment, requiring sitting for extended periods of time, and occasional light lifting (up to 15 lbs.). Job requires visual and physical capabilities to work on computers and associated equipment for prolonged periods of time (4-6 hours daily).
Work is infrequently performed around the plant site or within a riparian environment, involving wading, bending, twisting, reaching, and other necessary functions. Outdoor work may involve exposure to heat, cold, severe weather, water, and uneven terrain. Work may be performed at the wastewater treatment facility where noise, irritants, dust, dirt, bacteria, hazardous chemicals, air materials and/or fumes are present.
$77,600 - $126,000/annual salary
