This position is responsible for a wide variety of water and sewer office equipment operation work in all divisions (Technical, Meter Repair, Sewerline, Waterline, and Water Treatment) including complex clerical and administrative duties. This position reports directly to the Director.
 

• Compiles, writes and develops materials for web publications;
• Assists with special projects as assigned;
• Types letters, reports and other documents as required;
• Provide equipment maintenance support for the copier, fax, and scanner machines;
• Keep track of supply inventory and purchase orders;
• Acts as a liaison between Customer Operations Center and Water and Sewer handling all AMI (Automated Metering Infrastructure) inquiries;
• Handles complex customer services inquiries involving water and sewer entities;
• Coordinates communications with other departments and City employees;
• Processes purchasing paperwork; tracks departmental expenditures; processes requisitions and vouchers;
• Processes daily inspections on maintenance vehicles and equipment used on the job; documents and records missing equipment and/or needed repairs;
• Checks and maintains office equipment throughout all divisions;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in related field preferred; two (2) to (4) years in general office environment; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Controls: Work is assigned by the Director of Water and Sewer in terms of department goals and objectives.
Guidelines: Guidelines include City and departmental safety manuals, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures.
Complexity: The work consists of a variety of administrative, clerical and technical duties involving the proper use of a variety of equipment.
Scope and Effect: The purpose of this position is to support the efficient operation of the department through coordination of a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties.
Personal Contacts: Contacts are typically with co-workers, dispatchers, vendors, other City workers and the general public.
Purpose of Contacts: Contacts are typically accessed to give and exchange information and provide services.
Physical Demands: This work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk. The employee uses tools or equipment requiring dexterity. 
Work Environment: The work is typically performed in an office.
