1 Manages, oversees, and supports all community engagement activities designed to communicate Aviation services and activities; increases department visibility in the community and facilitates community engagement and builds relationships.
2 Oversees, coordinates, and manages all aspects of the Good Neighbor Program; prepares presentations, oversees projects and research, conducts public meetings, supervises data compilation, evaluates results and composes executive summaries as requested; develops briefing materials, presentations, brochures, and newsletters; interfaces with PIO and marketing firm to inform of meetings, develop the social media campaign, and coordinate with other departments to ensure attendance.
3 Communicates, engages, and interfaces with citizens, regulatory agencies, city management, other city departments, consultants, contractors and vendors to resolve problems, coordinate activities and provide information on the Good Neighbor Program; manages the Department's communication through website, monitors for suggestions from the community, gathers the news for information pertinent to the Department and community activity, answers the community's questions, and provides customer service related to the Good Neighbor Program.
4 Conducts and participates in short and long-range planning for community building and other projects to meet future demand and long-term vision building for the exterior of the airport; works closely with the Capital Group, other departments, and other government agencies to have preliminary discussions and move toward developing a Master Plan for the exterior of the airport.
5 Creates and develops specialized contracts per Director requests; manages the contracts and actively develops ideas to enhance and facilitate the relationship; supports and manages internship opportunities, job fair participation, community-building, contract management and preparation of items for Council consideration.
6 Develops, drafts, and executes contracts with consultants hired to evaluate sponsorship opportunities with outside organizations for the department
7 Represents the department and the city as a member of various committees both internally and externally; participates in numerous interview panels, Public Art panels, and other regular meetings such as the EAC, and Safety Committee etc.
8 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Administration, Economics, or other related field. MBA preferred.
Experience
10 plus years in communications, public administration, customer service, or public policy.
