Cirrus Aircraft is Hiring a Project Manager Near Duluth, MN

Job Summary

The Project Manager (PM) supports all phases of a project, from initiating to monitoring/controlling to the closing of a project. PM must be able to manage projects using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology and MS Project scheduling, along with various other PM tools. PM is responsible to work with a cross-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) in coordinating and scheduling Aftermarket Upgrades & Accessory project activities to obtain desired project results. This position requires a high degree of interaction and communication with multiple departments as well as internal/external stakeholders to be successful in leading projects.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Responsible for delivering Aftermarket Upgrades & Accessory projects to the approved scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Facilitates all aspects of a project charter to final state in professional presentation. Coordinates facts and data for business plan and financial model. 
  • Facilitates new project proposals with appropriate stakeholders and drives decision making with appropriate business information from a cross-functional team.
  • Works with finance on appropriate business model template for consistency and planning.
  • Drafts business case.
  • Works with area leadership to build Integrated Project Team(s) (IPT).
  • Supports development and measurement against business plans, MR&O, and DR&O. May potentially include Business Requirements & Objectives (BR&O) depending on project type.
  • Oversees purpose and status of the project and can use this oversight to support project-level activity to ensure goals are being met.
  • Develop project work breakdown structures and associated estimates for work package costs and resources through coordination with the project team and area leadership.
  • Maps out project dependencies and defines for team what needs to be completed to reach project goals.
  • Focuses on strategy and implementation and how to effectively delegate the projects and task needs.
  • Provides insight on risk, issues, requirements, design, and/or solution to be able to effectively manage project and associated dependencies.
  • Maintains project resource plan (people, financial, space, assets, etc…), and understands any associated constraints and planning visibility. Actively works to address issues and prioritize with platform/project team.
  • Works collectively with other Project and Program managers to balance needs and constraints.
  • Develop project metrics, schedules, and reports using MS Project while considering Project Sponsor’s strategic objectives for milestone completions.
  • Perform critical path analyses and make recommendations for schedule improvement that will reduce schedule risk.
  • Conduct change impact assessments for scope changes, trends, and change notices initiated from the project management system and report any schedule and cost implications.
  • Conduct and regularly assess project risk management and develop mitigation plans. Project dashboard contains risk review.
  • Manages to the approved business case, MR&O, and DR&O. (May include BR&O if applicable.)
  • Responsible for data management and analysis of project metrics.
  • Maintain accurate project time estimating and tracking.
  • Articulates the goals and objectives of the project and how it will impact the business with the IPT and department area(s) as required.
  • Works with project team to resolve problems or constraints that arise and has appropriate escalation measures in place.
  • Leads the team and is looked to for guidance versus needing to step in and do the team’s work for them.
  • Manages relationships and personalities with the ability to collaborate and maintain successful team member (and/or department) relationships.
  • Ensures IPT team is clear on roles and responsibilities to project plan, team, and communication needs and manages team performance to roles.
  • May have dotted line project reports depending on project roles and needs.
  • Assisting other members of the Customer Support team, Cirrus Aircraft employees, Authorized Service Center (ASC) employees, other Cirrus Aircraft partners, or customers with issues or questions pertaining to aircraft service or the systems with which they interact
  • Look for cross-functional opportunities for continual updating of Cirrus Aircraft policies and procedures and appropriate ways to communicate with team and partners.
  • Bring forward ideas from self or group on next steps for continued progress for better business systems that promote enhanced customer (ASC or owner) satisfaction.
  • Participate in service analysis needs and data reporting as required for continued progress on service offerings.
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of service documents, contracts, and procedures
  • Assist in yearly Services Development & Engineering initiative planning and budget planning
  • Consistently exhibit exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, while demonstrating Cirrus Aircraft’s mission, vision, values, and the Steps of Service
  • Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Three years’ experience in project management related work.
  • Preferred PMP certification or formal education in Project or Program Management.
