Job Description
Project Engineer (PE) supports project planning, monitoring, and executing within the engineering/design area of a project. The PE determine the necessary project tasks and their deadlines and coordinate with functional leaders to assign appropriate resources. The PE monitors and reports the engineering performance to the overall project schedule using MS project as well as Cirrus-specific project engineering tools. For smaller projects with ~5-15 FTE assigned, the PE provides project leadership to those resources and reports to the Program Manager (PM) as part of the cross-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT). For larger projects with ~15-20 FTE assigned, a PE is assigned to a specific project area of the project (structures, Systems/Powerplant, Avionics/Electrical) and reports to a Lead Project Engineer (LPE). The LPE represents the PE’s and their areas of engineering as part of the cross-functional IPT, reporting the PM.
