POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Administrator oversees and manages every department at Wesley Place, a 90-bed licensed skilled nursing community, that offers short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled care, and specialized memory care. Through their leadership the administrator ensures that residents receive the highest level of care and that their, physical, emotional and psychological needs are met. The administrator will also play a critical role in supporting the current organizational culture change.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for all departmental operations of Wesley Place, providing direction and support to leaders and team members— and creating a positive and supportive environment.
  • Effectively supports and manages a multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure quality resident care.
  • Assure compliance with regulations as set forth by federal, state, and city laws and guidelines as well as maintaining organizational standards. The Administrator is the ultimate representative of the community during inspections of any/all types by regulatory and licensing bodies.
  • Ensures that Residents Rights are preserved/protected at all times and that all residents are free from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and/or misappropriation of property through active implementation of the community's abuse prevention and detection program.
  • Ensures that any/all resident and/or family complaints are pursued through to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Promotes a resident-centered management philosophy emphasizing dignity, confidentiality, independence, joy, well-being and quality of life.
  • Promotes development of an administrative team, directing the group effort towards achieving and maintaining the standards and mission of CMSS and Wesley Place.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a community-wide Quality Assurance program that accurately assesses the quality and appropriateness of care/services delivered by each department.
  • Responsible to ensure that all appropriate and necessary policies and procedures are developed, implemented and reviewed as required including community-wide and departmental-specific and procedures.
  • Budget and Finance:
  • Full participation in the annual and long-term budgetary process: planning and implementation of administrative budget; coordinating departmental budget process; ensuring departmental achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Assessing monthly budgetary reports and providing budgetary controls as needed in order to function within parameters of operating budget.
  • Participate in ensuring that all billing practices, vendor practices and associated documentation re: Medicare and Medicaid are in compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be knowledgeable in current PC applications and use computer proficiently

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, staff, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • BA or BS, preferably in Business or Healthcare Administration. Master’s degree desirable.
  • At least three years’ experience as an Administrator in a skilled nursing home.
  • Must hold a current State of Illinois Nursing Home Administrator.
