Performs a variety of clerical duties including typing, entering data, filing, copying and faxing documents. Greets, assists, interviews and/or directs the public, applicants and/or clients. Verifies various types of information for accuracy. Prepares and delivers outgoing mail and stamps, sorts, logs and distributes incoming mail.
QualificationsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Six months experience is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Database and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A driver's license may be required to work in some departments. If so, the applicant must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to type 30 words per minute may be required and if so, must be verified by successfully completing a typing test. Must have the ability to operate standard office machines. Must have good working knowledge of the basic principles of filing. Must have the ability to deal professionally and pleasantly with the public.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
