Overview Responsible for the direct supervision of warehouse personnel and for oversight of the warehouse operation to assure compliance with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) 501 handbook of policies and procedures.
The Warehouse Supervisor is also responsible for management of all program equipment to ensure routine service is performed with direction from the program Director.
Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university; or six years related experience;
or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional two years experience in working in a warehouse or shipping and receiving experience is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
Driver's license required when travel from one location to another in the course of performing the duties of this job as specified by the department.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Basic computer skills and knowledge of office machines are required. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals / Entities (LEIE).

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.

Oversees the operation of the Food Distribution Warehouse. Ensures warehouse is maintained in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Oversees the management of program equipment including but not limited to : trucks, trailers, fork lifts, pallet jacks, slip sheet machines, freezer and cooler units.
Submits monthly report on mileage of all program vehicles. Monitors the oversight and follow up of shipping and receiving in accordance with the USDA 501 Handbook policies.
Assists in the monthly inventory count. Ensures that the inventory policies are maintained. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises 5 - 20 employees working in the warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
