Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT High school diploma or general education degree (GED). EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional one-year experience in purchasing is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Inventory software; Order processing systems;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess CPR / First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit;
use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests. Searches inventory record or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications. Prepares bid requests and mails forms to supplier forms for public posting.
Writes or types purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers and areas originating requests. Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between areas, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
Computes total cost of items purchased. Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries. Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers or mail order forms.
Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment. Maintains records of purchases and inventories.
Verifies orders and matches purchase orders. Contacts supplier in reference to any discrepancies in order or damaged merchandise.
Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
