The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and managing payroll activities for employees within an organization. This role involves maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. This is a temporary role onsite in Miami. This role pays $20 an hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
• Calculate and process payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
• Ensure accurate and timely distribution of payroll checks or electronic transfers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for all employees.
• Update employee payroll information, including changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, and job title/description.
• Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
• Prepare and submit required payroll-related reports to government agencies.
• Administer employee benefits programs related to payroll, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and flexible spending accounts.
• Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure accurate deductions and contributions.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including pay discrepancies, tax questions, and benefits.
• Collaborate with HR to address and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Prepare and process year-end reports, including W-2 forms and other required documents.
• Coordinate with finance and accounting departments for year-end financial reporting.
• Utilize payroll software to input, process, and retrieve payroll information.
• Collaborate with IT to resolve any technical issues related to payroll systems.
• Assist in internal and external payroll audits.
• Prepare documentation and reports as needed for audit purposes.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
• Experience in Dayforce or Ceridian Payroll required.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
• Ability to work onsite in Miami.
• Comfortable working a temporary assignment.
