Position overview

As the Manager of Leadership Development at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), you'll lead the charge in creating, managing, and executing our employee learning and development programs. Your commitment to staying current with the latest research in learning and development, including theories on motivation and innovative learning methods, will be instrumental in your success. You'll design and deliver programs tailored to our managerial, executive, and training staff, fostering their growth and success. Additionally, you'll oversee contractors or vendors involved in developing or administering training programs, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals. Maintaining data integrity within our various Learning Management Systems and tools will be a key aspect of your role, enabling us to track progress effectively and make informed decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of L&OD to develop and implement comprehensive leadership and people manager development strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with CNM objectives and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Designing and developing curriculum, instructional materials, and training programs tailored to the target audience needs at CNM that cultivate and enhance leadership skills for Managers and Leadership at CNM.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various topics involving performance management, and career and leadership development.
  • Identifying high-potential employees for Leadership Development Programs and initiatives by using Succession Plans and Performance Management Tools.
  • Partner with the Director of L&OD to develop and implement comprehensive executive leadership and manager development strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with CNM objectives and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Conduct needs assessments/analysis to identify skill gaps and training needs across departments and levels.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide professional and career development coaching to managers and leaders to support professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of leadership development initiatives and CNM goals and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of Professional Training experience which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Certified Professional Coach, with five (5) years of experience coaching employees.
  • Proven experience, three (3) years in designing, implementing, facilitating, and managing employee development programs.
  • Proven experience in applying strong facilitation, and presentation skills to coaching and training programs.
  • Certifications in Organizational Development, training, and facilitation or related are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to ensure that there is a strategic alignment with the leadership development initiatives and overall learning objectives.
  • Ability to analyze organizational systems identify feedback loops and leverage points for improving leadership effectiveness.
  • Ability to encourage leaders to think systematically and learn from both successes and failures for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in employee development and incorporate them into program design and delivery (e.g. blended learning – LMS, experimental learning).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Strong skills in selecting and using training and instructional design methods appropriate for the situation.
  • Ability to develop, design, and facilitate manager and leadership development programs.
  • Experience with succession planning and performance management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and utilize data and information for making informed decisions, solving problems, and driving strategic initiatives forward.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,979.00 - $97,173.00 per year
