CATIC Title Insurance Company is Hiring a Business Development Representative Near Tarrytown, NY

REPORTS TO: VP, Business Development
DEPARTMENT: New York Operations
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SUMMARY: Develop and maintain performance-based relationships with attorneys, title agents and their staffs in our New York territories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Recruit new attorney title agents (“Agents”), develop lists of potential agents by performing market research, and follow up on sales leads and sales visits.
  • Service existing accounts, focusing sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of agents and working with current agents to increase their level of business with CATIC Title.
  • Evaluate and respond to agent business needs, determine the appropriate service levels for each agent in New York, and provide service according to those levels.
  • Guide new agent/agent staff through the onboarding process and provide training in the company’s procedures, agent responsibilities (“core services”) as well as general practices.
  • Keep management informed by utilizing the customer relationship management software system for notes and report creation. Participate in sales forecasting and planning and meet established sales and revenue goals.
  • Maintain an understanding of current industry trends, practices and technical developments and leverage the use of marketing/social media to expand the CATIC Title footprint.
  • Compliance and adherence at all times with the organization’s Code of Ethics and Conduct as well as all of our company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must have valid driver's license and be willing to travel up to 80% of the time or more as deemed necessary within the New York territory.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish Company goals.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, positive attitude, high degree of professionalism and a commitment to providing extraordinary service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment and capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability in problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing the sale.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. A degree in business, marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • 3-5years experience working within the New York Title Insurance Industry. Title industry sales experience, knowledge of current rules, compliance and ALTA Best Practices are a plus.
  • Experience with CRM Software, TrackerPro or similar Title Software preferred.
