Cates Control Systems is Hiring an OEM Production Manager Near Plano, TX

Description

Cates Control Systems in Plano, TX is looking to hire a OEM Production Manager. Joining the Cates team is both challenging and rewarding. You will become an important member of a very talented and dynamic team within our industry. If this sounds like you, please read on!

Job Purpose: 

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the OEM production line, characterized by repeat panel assemblies completed in production batches. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, optimizing process, cross-functional coordination, and leading customer communication. Through continuous improvement initiatives, the successful candidate will minimize waste, optimize productivity, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety, while ensuring transparent and effective communication with customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

1) Optimize Batch Production Processes: Develop and implement strategies to maximize the efficiency, quality, and consistency of repeat panel assemblies, using batch production techniques tailored to OEM requirements.

2) Customer Communication and Engagement: Serve as the primary point of communication for customers, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the production process.

3) Strategic Project Scheduling and Delivery: Evaluate project requirements and manage batch scheduling to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of all production batches.

4) Issue Resolution and Customer Relations: Act as the liaison between customers and Cates, resolving issues swiftly and maintaining constructive customer relationships.

5) Technical and Logistical Optimization: Direct efforts to address technical and logistical challenges, enhancing operations and customer satisfaction through proactive problem-solving and innovation.

6) Compliance and Safety in Batch Production: Oversee adherence to health and safety standards, particularly within the context of batch production, to ensure all processes are safe and regulatory compliant.

7) Continuous Improvement in Batch Production: Champion continuous improvement efforts specifically tailored to the OEM production line, aiming to enhance performance, quality, and efficiency in batch production.

8) Leadership with a Customer-Focused Approach: Lead the team to prioritize customer satisfaction, embedding a customer-focused culture in all aspects of batch production and communication.

9) Measure and Control Performance: Track and report on department performance, taking action to ensure department profitability is maintained.

10) Cross-Functional Coordination: Ensure that communication is open and clear between departments. Coordinate borrowing of tools and resources. Understand effects of process change on other departments and work minimize negative effects.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Admin, or Operations Management and 5 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent experience

· Proven leadership expertise with management experience

· Prefer experience or knowledge in Industrial Control Panel assembly

Soft Skills: 

· Must be able to solve problems and react quickly to issues. 

· Ability to guide team members, communicate expectations and influence results.

· Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with high performance teams of diverse individuals.

· Ability to schedule and prioritize using data and sound logic.

· Consistent organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed successfully and on-time.

· Job entry, job scheduling, BOM review in CRM, ERP and production scheduling software.

· Aligns well with company culture and principles.

Hard Skills: 

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Advanced data processing and clear visual presentations required.
  • Epicor ERP experience a plus
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma a plus
  • OSHA
  • UL 508A and NEC
