About the team and position

Carvana's HR Operations team provides top-notch HR and policy/compliance guidance and employee relations support to the organization's employees and managers, responding to and/or supporting employee/manager complaints, investigations, and corrective action review. As a Coordinator, Human Resources Operations, you'll play an important role on the HR Operations Team by performing a number of administrative activities related to our Employee Relations functions. You'll tap into your organization, communication, and customer-focus skills to help the team stay effective and efficient.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, maintain, and utilize a basic knowledge of Carvana's policies and procedures, particularly those related to employee relations and corrective action.
  • Execute daily administrative processes related to the employee life cycle.
  • Support processing and completion of unemployment claims & coordinate Employment Development Department (EDD) inquiries.
  • Answer routine employee related inquiries, to include basic policy and procedure questions, and route/assign ownership of more involved or complex inquiries to the appropriate parties.
  • Provide exceptional care to internal and external customers and maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Review and sort inbound mail.
  • Support the accurate and timely completion of employment verification requests.
  • Share input on potential process improvements where appropriate/applicable.
  • Generate monthly reports based off of data tracking
  • Track, file and organizing corrective actions, ongoing investigations and other projects
  • Other responsibilities and/or projects as assigned by leadership.

What you should know/have

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in a Human Resources, Administrative Assistant or Customer Service capacity.
  • Ability to work independently and with a high level of accuracy, initiative, organization and self motivation.
  • Keen attention to professional email etiquette, especially regarding the transmission of sensitive data.
  • Effective (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Highest level of customer service and sense of urgency.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to consistently and appropriately use discretion regarding confidential and sensitive personnel data.

  • Experience and basic understanding of federal and state compliance laws as they apply to employment law.
