Carolina Premium Beverage is Hiring a Delivery Manager Near Charlotte, NC

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Delivery Manager is to provide effective leadership, training, motivation, and supervision to all delivery personnel.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Personnel Management:
  • Interview and select the best internal and external candidates for open positions.
  • Provide direct on the job training for Area Delivery Mangers and indirectly all delivery personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews to communicate performance issues, achievements, and opportunities for employees.
  • Handle any discipline or performance issues according to company policy, maintaining proper documentation.
  • Work with all personnel regarding the implementation of changes in procedures and systems.
  • Conduct regular division meetings to communicate upcoming programs, safety topics, events, issues / opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure proper staffing and ongoing recruiting to meet business needs and maintain a fully staffed department.
  • Conduct/participate in cross-training with sales and operations.
  • Ensuring Account Service:
  • Assigns job tasks to driver according to delivery route schedules.
  • Work with customers to ensure the timely delivery of product.
  • Fill-in and cover routes as required, including assisting drivers to deliver and unload product when necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring delivery service standards related to product rotation (Product Freshness Rotation Policy), display placement, competition placement, and other customer service needs.
  • Follow-up on all customer complaints in assigned accounts to ensure problems are resolved to prevent recurrence.
  • Working with sales and operations, consistently review routing efficiency and make changes when necessary. Strive to be the preferred distributor in the market while complying with service policy standards.
  • Conduct regular market ride/work-with activities to assess market conditions and training needs.
  • Other Duties:
  • Member of the Risk Management Team and Safety Committee.
  • Maintain safety records for delivery to measure compliance with safety systems.
  • Understand warehouse activities regarding driver check-in or check-out, specials, code-dating and truck loading.
  • Proficient with routing software (RoadNet) and RAS software (VIP). Consistently review routing efficiency and make changes as necessary.
  • Understand the general budgeting process and how it affects the performance measurement of the delivery unit.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends to promote special event promotions.
  • Obey all Federal, State and local laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all FMCSR.
  • Ensure issues with fleet and equipment are reported for maintenance.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly Fleet Assessment.
  • Meet and achieve goals outline in delivery KPI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Diversified duties involving an intensive knowledge of a technical or specialized field within the organization requiring the use of a wide range of procedures. Must apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems. Requires independent thinking and use of judgment to interpret and analyze facts and circumstances surrounding individual problems or transactions, and to determine appropriate action to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practice.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Under specific direction where definite objectives or goals are established requiring the use of a wide range of procedures and the employee plans and arranges own work and coordinates work of others, referring only unusual cases to supervisor or others.


RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS

Probable errors may be serious involving losses such as improper costs, failure to take discounts, overpayment, loss of holding up of productions, waste of material, damage to equipment, loss of employee, supplier, or customer goodwill. Errors could result in confusion and delay causing lost time in more than a limited phase of company operations. Errors would become apparent in normal business cycles, however, correcting and adjusting could involve considerable expense. Most of work performed is not directly verified or checked.


CONTACT WITH OTHERS

Regular contacts throughout the normal working day with other persons, departments, vendors, customers, etc. on matters involving corrections or adjustments where proper behavior and some tact are necessary to avoid friction and maintain the flow of work.


CONFIDENTIAL DATA

Work with some confidential data such as product costs, individual wage and salary rates or schedules, which, if disclosed, might have adverse internal or minor external effect.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

General supervision of a department of 5-10 employees indirect supervision over the entire division of 35-50 employees. Responsible for costs, methods, and personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, reviewing, and checking work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


EQUIPMENT

Ability to operate standard office machines such as copier, computer, fax, calculator, etc. Also, ability to operate tractor trailer, electric or manual pallet jack.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

ABC Beer permit required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
