All-Pets Hospital - Des Moines, Iowa
- Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters into computer system (Impromed)
- Admits and discharges patients.
- Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.*
- Educates clients on pet care in a kind and compassionate manner
- Performs departmental housekeeping duties.*
- Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.*
- Monitors hospital patients and logs vital signs.*
- Administers medications and treatment to patients as directed by veterinarian.
- Places catheters and performs blood draws.*
- Completes in-house laboratory diagnostics, and processes send-out laboratory requests (IDEXX).
- Performs or assists in additional in-house diagnostics, such as radiographs, ultrasounds, and cytology.
- Restrains and assists the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.*
- Answers phone calls and assists the receptionists with scheduling, record sending, and other client needs.
- Maintains a clean hospital environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Iowa are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
