Welcome to VCA Avondale Veterinary Hospital! Our Veterinary Technician team is growing, and we are looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our hospital!

We perform ultrasounds, orthopedic surgeries, and advanced dentistry in addition to excellent preventive medicine. We even have a Rehabilitation and Laser Therapy Center! If there is an area you want to grow in, we are here for you!

Overall Responsibility: Our CVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients.
- Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
- Venipuncture and IVC placement.
- Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
- Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
- Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
- Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
- Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
- Competent with medical math
- Anesthesia monitoring for procedures including sedation, dentals, soft tissue and orthopedic procedures
- Perform dental and dental radiographs
- Triage urgent cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
- Assist with laser therapy
Compensation: Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
