JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Human Resources Manager

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Caribou, ME

Type: Full-time Exempt

Job Summary:

S. W. Collins Co. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our growing team. This pioneer will be responsible for leading our HR initiatives, developing policies and procedures, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with all labor laws and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

· Oversee and manage the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.

· Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

· Manage and resolve employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.

· Lead performance management processes, including setting objectives, guiding and supporting managers through performance evaluations, and providing feedback.

· Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, and other related plans.

· Oversee employee training and development initiatives, supporting talent management and succession planning.

· Develop and implement a comprehensive internship program across locations.

· Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.

· Develop, track, and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions for continuous improvement.

· Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement, collaboration, and high performance.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Proficient in HRIS and related software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience and Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.

· At least 5 years of experience in human resources management required, with a proven track record of success.

· Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred but not required.

· Prior management experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasional travel by car to other S. W. Collins Co. locations and events in Northern Maine.
