The Opportunity:Caraway is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing to effectively oversee our marketing team to execute our marketing strategy. Reporting to the VP of Brand & Creative, the Senior Director of Marketing will manage a team of brand, marketing, and social marketers and copywriters, responsible for leading the team to execute brand & product storytelling, organic social media planning, public relations, and orchestrating lightning strike launches and moments. 

This marketing leadership role will be critical in helping Caraway stay at the forefront of the conversation around innovating the kitchen category through our non-toxic offerings.

Who You Are: Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in product marketing, brand development (preferably in the consumer packaged goods space), compelling storytelling abilities, and a proven track record of effective leadership. Their expertise lies in product marketing and the art of storytelling, where they have expertly managed high-impact go-to-market strategies and teams as well as demonstrated the ability to translate captivating narratives into successful integrated marketing campaigns. They are no stranger to collaborating cross-functionally and with external partners (including Creative, Growth, Digital Product/UX, PR, Operations, CX, and Retail), to drive marketing initiatives for new & existing products and brand moments, all the while navigating the dynamic landscape of a brand repositioning amidst rapid growth. The most successful candidate will embody our team & company culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement, and is driven by a passion for creating engaging marketing experiences that resonate with diverse consumer segments. 

Responsibilities:

  • BRAND & PRODUCT STORYTELLING: Drive the development of compelling brand and product storytelling for new and existing products that resonate with diverse consumer segments. Support your leaders to craft and own the brand voice for how we communicate across all marketing channels & points of sale 
  • MARKETING STRATEGY & IMPLEMENTATION: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan, ensure all product launches and integrated marketing campaigns are effectively brought to life in a timely and efficient manner. Work cross functionally with Growth Marketing stakeholders to produce and optimize all channels to support positive ROAS (including Social, Email, Direct Mail, Retail, Amazon).
  • PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Inspire and lead a growing marketing team of 8 , foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Oversee day-to-day operations, provide guidance on project execution and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • INTEGRATED MARKETING CAMPAIGNS: In support of reaching and engaging with new & core audiences, spearhead innovative integrated marketing campaigns where the main goal(s) are to drive organic impressions and engagement far & wide.
  • PARTNER MARKETING: In collaboration with stakeholders within Strategy and Partnerships, strategize marketing opportunities and ways in which Caraway can activate and engage with partners across our Retail channels and our growing Ambassador Program, ensuring always-on programming.
  • PR & EARNED MEDIA RELATIONS: Manage relationships with an external agency and key stakeholders to craft compelling business and brand press stories that keep Caraway top of mind within top-tier publications. 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • 8 years of relevant marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role
  • Proven track record of brand development and working cross-functionally across Creative, Growth, Digital Product/UX, Operations, CX, Retail, and Legal to devise innovative marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Experience in the DTC/E-Commerce industry
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective messaging across all major marketing channels, points of sale, and packaging, always ensuring a consistent brand voice
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives running at parallel timelines across various teams
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, always seeking out efficiencies and process improvements to consistently produce innovative results
  • Have a passion for all things home, design, and leading a non-toxic lifestyle
