GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct students in Medical Assisting courses beginning the Fall 2024 semester. Courses cover various topics within the Medical Assisting Certificate program and may include:
MAC 101- Fundamentals of Medical Assisting
This course covers introductory administrative skills and medical terminology in the medical office, as well as introductory theory and techniques of medical assisting used to perform fundamental clinical assisting procedures in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.
MAC 204 Medical Assisting Clinical Procedures and Clinical Practicum
This course covers basic medical assisting clinical skills and provide practical experience in a clinical setting to complement the clinical and office skills required to sit for the National Certificate Exam. The course is divided into lecture, laboratory practice, clinical practicum, and seminar addressing the professional behavior in health care.
MAC 205 The Administrative Medical Assistant
This course introduces advanced medical office procedures including appointment scheduling, client/patient relations, phone communication, patient reception, the medical record, written communication, managing practice finances, diagnostic and procedural coding, medical insurance, medical billing, and job seeking skills.

COMPENSATION: Step 1 DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
