GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instruction for a variety of Business Technology courses. Courses cover various topics within the Business Department and may include:

  • Computer Applications (BST110)
  • Microsoft Excel for Business Applications (BST225)
  • Database Applications (BST250)
  • Advanced Word Processing (BST220)
  • Standard Office Procedures (BST202)

Comprehensive instruction includes methodologies for students' developing conceptual understanding, applying critical thinking, and acquiring hands-on Microsoft Office Certification skills. These courses may be offered on campus or via a remote modality.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Provide on campus or remote instruction utilizing educational technologies of Zoom and Moodle.
  • Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
  • Track and assess student progress.
  • Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
Job Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Education, or a closely related field, with appropriate areas of concentration.
  • Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
  • Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
  • Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
  • Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Business Education or a related field.
  • College-level teaching experience.
  • Professional development in teaching at the community college level.
  • Experience as an administrative assistant.
  • Skill using MOODLE to support student learning.

: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale. Part-time, Non- benefited, MCCC Unit position.
