Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Director of Operations. As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's operations and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our products and services. This is a senior leadership position that requires exceptional strategic planning, process improvement, and project management skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to drive business growth and achieve organizational goals
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple departments, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in operations management
  • Work closely with the General Manager in establishing on-going operations procedures and programs for the park.
  • Implement the park Duty Manager Program.
  • Act as liaison with local law enforcement and public service agencies.
  • Establish and monitor the on-going safety program including conducting regular safety meetings.
  • Conduct regular information meeting with the various department heads to ensure good communications within park operations department.
  • Conduct daily and frequent site inspections to ensure that the highest possible standards of safety, courtesy, cleanliness, and efficiency are met.
  • Develop and motivate the leadership team in the park operations department.
  • Maintain close and open communication with peers and superiors.
  • Direct all aspects of the operations department through a close working relationship with the operations staff.
  • Oversee the selection, training, testing, and conduct of the lifeguard staff to ensure the highest life guarding standards are met.
  • Oversee the activities of park services personnel in creating a clean, pleasant park environment.
  • Develop, monitor, and meet or exceed the yearly business plan for the department.
  • See that all First Aid Reports and other pertinent data are collected.
  • Evaluates the needs for supplies and equipment for the Aquatics Department, EMT, Park Services, Admissions, Retail, and Security teams.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the Doctor of Record, local hospitals, and clinics.
  • Work with representatives of the insurance underwriter to identify and correct problems and to defend the company in liability matters.
  • Select and train security guards to maintain adequate coverage, including off season and after hours.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma is required. College degree is preferred, but not required
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years theme park/resort management experience is required.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule during operating season which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift, carry, or otherwise move and position items and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds as well as standing, walking, crouching, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, lifting, and pushing. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in varying climates
