Caesars Virginia is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Danville, VA

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for building repairs, repairs to small appliances, and regular maintenance to building systems; maintenance of the building’s appearance; may also move office furniture and/or casino games and may change signage and posters throughout property and at off-property locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs minor maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and replacement of air filters.
  • Performs routine checks of utility systems to ensure their proper operation.
  • Installs posters, banners and other promotional props.
  • Climbs ladders or uses other equipment to change indoor and outdoor signage.
  • Relocates and arranges gaming tables, exhibits and props.
  • Moves, arranges and assembles office furniture and equipment
  • Inspects utilities and equipment to ensure their proper operation and the safety of the property, guests and team members.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, such as trouble shooting utilities and equipment, to prevent malfunction of equipment on property.
  • Repairs building, utilities and equipment promptly to ensure their proper operation according to department standards.
  • Renovates, constructs or restores property’s exterior and interior when necessary to maintain the structure’s quality, as well as to ensure safety of guests and team members.
  • Orders parts to maintain proper inventory.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by management
  • Adheres to all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Background in one or more of the building maintenance fields, such as Heating/air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, reaching, climbing steps, and sitting are required. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 90 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders or crawl through tight spaces in high or low areas while carrying approximately 30 pounds of tools or equipment. Must be able to maneuver throughout the shops, casino and hotel areas. Must be able to reach below and above the shoulders, bend, stoop, crouch and kneel. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Must exhibit the dexterity skills to include constant reaching, handling, working with fingers, and hand coordination. Must be able to tolerate tight spaces in high or low areas, tolerate dust, chemicals or fumes, work in a “smoke-filled” environment and tolerate loud noises and bright lights. Must be capable of working indoors or outdoors during all seasons, including unusually hot, cold, smoky, and/or dimly lit areas.
