C2 Global Professional Services is Hiring a Remote Chief Financial Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The ChiefFinancial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive team and isresponsible for overseeing all financial activities and strategies to ensurethe financial health and sustainability of the organization. This positionoversees the company's financial activities, including contract operations. TheCFO ensures the contract fiscal teams develop budgets, initiate budgetamendment requests, track expenditures, report and allocate all costsappropriately, and meet the fiscal requirements of all contracts. The CFO, withassistance from the Controller, prepares or supervises the preparation offinancial reports and related fiscal documents; establishes an appropriatereporting system; maintains all accounting systems; develops accountingprocedures according to rules and regulations, including Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles (GAAP) and existing state and federal guidelines. The CFOreviews the analysis of cumulative monthly expenditure reports and status offunds reports of contracted funds and conducts the continuous review andanalysis necessary to control the expenditure of funds and develop a stable andpredictable expenditure pattern. Develops and implements internalcontrols for accuracy and GAAP accounting. The CFO provides oversight toall fiscal monitoring activities and interacts with the independent auditors toensure that all contract audit requirements are met on a timely basis. The CFO also participates in all major company procurement activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Provide strategic guidance to the executive team on financial matters.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Interact with auditors and monitors from customers and oversight agencies to meet all contract requirements.
  • Review contracts and participate in contract negotiations when required.

 Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and support to inform decision-making across the organization.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships and opportunities to enhance the company's financial position and long-term viability.
  • Support the bid and proposal activities by reviewing RFPs, preparing or approving proposal budgets, and recommending pricing strategies.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Conduct financial analysis to assess performance, identify risks, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and provide regular reports to the executive team and the contracting agency.
  • Evaluate and mitigate financial risks through effective internal controls, compliance measures, and insurance strategies. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends impacting the organization's financial operations.

 Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop talent within the finance department, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Promote a strong ethical culture and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide fiscal training to non-financial employees of the company

RelationshipManagement:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with partners and contracting agencies, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify opportunities for expanding services and enhancing the satisfaction of the contracting agencies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to contracting agencies, providing financial insights and guidance to support their workforce development objectives. Regularly engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

FrequentOvernight Travel:

  • This position requires frequent overnight travel to various locations for meetings with clients, conferences, and strategic initiatives. Flexibility and willingness to travel are essential aspects of the role.
  • Assists the controller in providing financial guidance to members of the management team on a regular, ongoing, and as-needed basis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to motivate staff and provide guidance to staff, management and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively and interact with all stakeholders;
  • Strong knowledge of effective management techniques and practices, including planning, implementing and assessing results.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and share information to a wide audience
  • Ability to interpret information (policy) and analyze data (performance) and provide meaningful feedback for action; ability to develop solutions to meet organization goals, using all existing databases and related management information systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local workforce development programs and services.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and related software, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools of the trade.
  • Ability to create tailored financial reports.
  • Strong understanding and extensive knowledge of the workforce programs and the workforce system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in a governmental agency or government contracting setting preferred
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education. Experience with budget development, management, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of workforce development and government grant management preferred.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Manual for Grants and Contracts (FMGC) required.
  • Knowledge and experience with governmental accounting required.
  • Knowledge of MIP Fund Accounting Software is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with good driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical requirements include lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally. Subject to standing, sitting, bending, and walking to perform job scope. Requires visual acuity, speech, and hearing. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Occasional driving and travel may be required. Flexible hours may be required.
