The Role

Senior Financial Analyst, Planning & Analysis

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary contact for our Marketing and Retail services area of the business as well as our core revenue generating department, among others.
  • Support the forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Engage frequently with members of leadership and our executive team to plan and analyze business performance by identifying gaps between business goals and objectives such as month end variances on the P&L to the budget, forecast and PY.
  • Engage frequently with our sales and client teams to understand coverage changes for more accurate revenue forecasting.
  • Compare and analyze actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of strategic initiatives that help identify business trends to drive and influence business performance/decisions.
  • Support the development of a pricing and forecast strategy across our retail services department.
  • Proactively identify financial trends and key performance indicators. 
  • Make data-driven recommendations for process improvements, cost savings, and revenue enhancements based on trend analysis. 
  • Prepare content for ongoing leadership and board reviews as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • 4 years of experience in financial analysis.
  • Excellent excel skills with advance formula knowledge and ability to merge and consolidate multiple sources of data .
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Sage Intacct and Workday Adaptive Planning a plus.
  • Experience in CPG space a huge plus.
  • Ability to communicate financial requirements to other audiences and communicate with confidence to executive leadership regarding financial analysis and strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports.
  • Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong time and people management skills with ability and desire to work independently with guidance in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Has a strong sense of ownership for areas of responsibility and processes.
  • Meticulous, highly organized and self-directed approach to work, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment and prioritize competing tasks in time-constrained situations.

Location: Hybrid; Chicago Office 

After over two years of living through a Pandemic, C.A. understands that going back to “normal” doesn’t quite look like the normal we once knew. That said, we offer employees a flexible, hybrid working schedule. For non-remote roles, employees work 2-3 days in office and the others from home. We also offer “summer hours” on Fridays during the summer months. We believe flexibility is key to a success hybrid environment.
