POSITION SUMMARY
Burke Construction Group is seeking an experienced, motivated, self-starter Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our talented team. This is a position is based in Las Vegas, NV.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead / manage project team through all phases of the project.
Maintain open and proactive communication with the project team, design consultants and clients.
Assist the Project Executive and VP of Operations by managing the project through completion.
Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues.
Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including Change Order Logs, RFI Logs, and Submittal Logs.
Schedule, plan, and facilitate job start up safety meetings to reinforce project expectations.
Read, understand, and plan according to the work specification and contract responsibilities.
Work with project teams to ensure proper record keeping and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support the overall program initiatives.
Identifies required resources to achieve project goals.
Generates preliminary assessments, technical solutions, fee proposals, presentations, studies, and general support.
Transitions project management and engineer activities from design to construction phase and construction to completion phase.
Supports and provides input to development strategies, goals, and objectives specific to project execution at each project phase.
Responsible for owner billing and subcontractor and vendor billing process.
Facilitates invoice payments from clients and to subcontractors.
Project Controls - Assumes financial responsibility for project including accurate, timely and relevant reporting to stakeholders.
Prepares client and subcontractor change orders and change management processes.
Monitors, controls, and reports on the financial performance of projects. Monitors and proofs change issue log.
Prepares or supervises the preparation of Submittals, Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Expediting Reports, Change Order Log, RFI log, Correspondence Log, etc.
Assesses any potential job cost impacts, submits, negotiates and tracks all change orders requests.
Ensures that all material and equipment are purchased in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Monitors progress towards goals to anticipate potential problems.
Delivers accurate and timely data to support project forecasts.
Team Management -Coaches and mentors project team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related degrees
5-10 years of experience in the construction industry.
Minimum of 2 multi-family projects of over $25 million budgets
OHSA 30 preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite of products, P6.
