Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant with extensive experience in full-cycle accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing all aspects of the accounting cycle, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions.

Essential Functions:

• Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee all aspects of the accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights into financial performance and variances to support decision-making processes.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and communicate findings to management.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, providing documentation and explanations as required.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation of corporate tax returns and ensuring adherence to tax regulations.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls, implementing best practices where applicable.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed to promote professional development and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on full-cycle accounting.
• Strong MS Excel skills are a must! 
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Radar, Concur) and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Good written and verbal communication.

Pay Range

• The pay range for this position is $72,000 to $82,000.

Additional Qualification (Optional):

• Restaurant Experience: Previous experience working in the restaurant industry, whether in an accounting capacity or other roles, is a plus. Knowledge of restaurant-specific accounting practices, such as inventory management, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and understanding of point-of-sale (POS) systems, can be beneficial in this role. A candidate with firsthand experience in the unique financial aspects of the restaurant business may bring valuable insights to the position, aiding in the interpretation of financial data and providing tailored recommendations to support restaurant operations.
