About this Opportunity
Brunswick County is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant II to join our Public Utilities Department. Brunswick County Public Utilities provides water and wastewater services to individual, retail, and wholesale customers across the county. The Administrative Assistant II works closely with department leadership (including Director, Deputy Director, Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and performs skilled administrative and clerical work in support of effective and efficient Public Utilities operations. Work includes:
The Administrative Assistant II regularly interacts with Utility leadership and employees, other county department heads and employees, property owners, contractors, engineers, developers, and the general public. If you are a customer focused individual with excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise independent judgement and demonstrate initiative in all phases of work, we’d love to talk to you! This position reports to the Director of Public Utilities.
Education and Experience
Associate degree and three (3) to four (4) years of experience in clerical/administrative work; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
