Job Summary:
Brudis & Associates, Inc. (BAI) is actively seeking a Senior Project Engineer in our Traffic Engineering Department for immediate employment to support our strong backlog of work and continued revenue growth in the Mid-Atlantic market. The qualified candidate will work under the direction of the Project Manager and will be the lead Traffic Control Design Engineer and Traffic Operation Engineer on multiple projects. The individual shall demonstrate an ability to collaboratively work with a team or independently on a wide range of small- or large-scale multi-discipline projects for state, county, or local jurisdictions. The position requires analytical thinking, adaptive and independent problem-solving, creativity, innovation, and the ability to utilize lower-level engineers to complete task assignments. The qualified candidate shall be dependable, open-minded, focused, and attentive to details, including project schedules, budgets, and quality.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The primary responsibilities include developing plans, specifications, and estimates for design services, including but not limited to traffic signal design for new and reconstructed traffic signals, maintenance of traffic, detours, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and ITS devices complying with the MUTCD, Traffic Control Devices Design Manual, Standard Sign Book, AASHTO, IES, NEC, NESC, and FHWA standards and guidelines. Knowledge and experience with the Standards and Guidelines of VDOT, SHA, DDOT, and DelDOT are highly desirable.
Additional experience with traffic modeling, simulation, and analysis for traffic engineering studies, including safety, multi-modal accessibility, freeway, managed lanes, and arterial traffic operations, and knowledge of FHWA and ITE manuals and guidelines on Traffic Engineering Studies is desirable.
