The Nichols brothers, Matt & Jeff, were raised in Ames, Iowa, where they developed a passion for cooking, quality food, and fostering a strong sense of community. Their journey began in the summer of 1996 when they launched the original Brothers Restaurant in Solvang. In 2013, they unveiled Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn in Santa Ynez, renowned for its exceptional food, local wine selection, and warm hospitality.

Position Overview: We seek a talented, experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our team. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for maintaining the high standards we have established while executing our vision of culinary excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a guest-first mindset, and a hands-on approach to running a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the culinary team to consistently deliver exceptional food quality and presentation.
  • Execute core menus while collaborating on seasonal menus.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and sanitation.
  • Manage inventory, food costs, and kitchen expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a high level of skill and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff and management, to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or a similar leadership role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or hospitality establishment.
  • 3-5 years of Kitchen leadership experience, preferably in an upscale Steak House environment.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating seasonal items.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in managing kitchen operations, including inventory, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish.
  • A Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
