Brooke Charter Schools is Hiring a Development & Communications Intern Near Boston, MA

What is the role of a Development & Communications Intern?
Brooke Charter Schools is seeking a highly motivated college student to join our Development and Communications team as an intern this summer! This role presents an opportunity to work directly within a school environment on a small, multi-function team. Our intern will get to learn about potential career paths in education while developing professional skills and experience via a few key responsibilities. The intern will report to Brooke’s Development Manager, and the position is full-time, running for at least 4 weeks between mid-June and late August (the ideal start date is July 10, but candidates with more flexibility can start sooner and/or work additional weeks.)
This is a full-time position. Compensation for this role is $20/hour.

Responsibilities: 

  • Data entry for the Development, Communications, and Alumni Support teams
  • Researching fundraising prospects and opportunities
  • Working with the Communications coordinator to source and write content for social media and other e-communications 
  • Publishing content updates to Brooke’s website
  • Event setup support for (and attendance of) New Teacher Orientation sessions
  • Supporting the network operations team with other projects as needed 

Requirements:

  • Must be a current undergraduate student 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing social media platforms
  • Interest in/passion for education and/or the nonprofit sector

If possible:

  • Experience with creating and editing spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel, etc.)
  • Some familiarity with email marketing platforms and/or digital design tools (Canva, etc.)
  • Some event planning experience
