Overview

A kind Brooklyn Heights family is seeking a warm and caring nanny for their two-year-old son. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 7am-6:30pm, with potential for a shorter day on Friday, and flexibility for occasional later evenings.Duties for this position include all aspects of childcare, as well as tidying and organization of his spaces, keeping common areas neat, and preparing simple healthy meals for the child. Child laundry is required, and the family would love to find someone who is willing to add family laundry as needed. The child will be entering a preschool program in the fall, so the nanny will drop him off and pick him up, and will pro-actively plan social activities and outings outside of school time. They are looking for someone with childhood development knowledge, who enjoys engaging with children and fostering their growth. The ideal candidate will be engaging, creative, and thoughtful. 

The family also has a 4-year-old who is typically only with them on the weekends, but very occasionally the family may ask that the nanny care for him for a few hours. The family travels 1-2 times per year, and would love their nanny to accompany them. During the summer months they spend 1-2 months in the Hamptons- this is spread out across the summer- they are seeking someone who is willing to travel with them and live-in M-F during that time. The ability to swim would be ideal, and a driver's license would be a bonus, but not required. The family has a small hypoallergenic dog, so candidates should be comfortable working around pets.
