Position Information:

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to support our Federal customers. The successful candidate will assist with the management and coordination of a multi-disciplined team, delivering functional upgrades to IT hardware and software systems. The Project Manager collaborates and effectively communicates throughout the lifecycle of affected projects, to ensure timely delivery, within budget, and to performance standards, using project management principles and methods to manage delivery. In this position, the Project Manager will manage and deliver functionality in close collaboration with clients, ensuring successful oversight and client delivery of impacted projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Interact with business or service leadership to elicit needs, constraints, outcomes, and other aspects to form the basis of a project charter to develop a programmatic plan for review and decision.
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize project management artifacts that are appropriately tailored and necessary to start up, plan, manage, and close a service improvement, service transition, or service implementation project.
  • Examples would include project charter, schedule, work breakdown structure, sprint roadmap, use cases, Gantt chart, risk register, etc.)
  • Manage the ongoing project execution of projects through coordination of stakeholders, delivery team, and utilization of PMBOK artifacts to achieve desired project outcomes, including service transition to operations and maintenance mode that comply with OCIO ISO 20000 and ISO 270000 service management processes.
  • Report project performance by comparing the project schedule and budget baseline to actual performance.
  • Prepare communication artifacts (status, PowerPoint presentations, Gantt charts, Visio diagrams, project financial status) needed for leadership and team understanding of project status, project decisions, and ISO Compliance.
  • Apply best practices, tools, and methods to support the delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to performance specifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS-based solutions
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment, applying Agile methods and principles
  • Demonstrated active participation as part of working groups, integrated product teams, or other teams that are collaborating on technical and non-technical aspects of software and hardware implementations
  • Experience presenting analyses and findings for consideration, with respect to project scope, schedules, budgets, and risks with associated projects
  • Strong analytical skills, used to develop a range of reports used to communicate findings and recommendations that have broad impacts to affected organizations
  • Collaborate with technical experts to collect and interpret data associated with requirements, system performance, schedules/milestones, budgets, and links to strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program and project management concepts (PMBOK) and best practices
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Visio, or other similar tools to manage projects
  • A strong background with technical project methods is desired (agile, rapid delivery, waterfall, etc.), as the successful candidate will assist with the management of technical projects.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively to ensure expectations are clear and understood by a team with diverse technical disciplines and competencies.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally interact with internal and external clients 
  • Ability to work with no supervision
  • Must have proven experience meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be hands-on, and take proactive ownership of projects
