At BCG ANZ we’re very proud of our local learning and development program, which reflects the significant investment and commitment made in recent years. As BCG continues to scale in ANZ, our Learning & Development (L&D) team plays a critical role in building core consulting and leadership skills, championing a learning culture, and facilitating connection.
We are currently seeking an L&D Manager to join the BCG ANZ L&D Team for a period of 12 months (parental leave cover). You will report to the ANZ People Experience Manager, and oversee a team of 3 direct reports (L&D Senior Specialist, L&D Specialist, L&D Coordinator).
Own delivery and continual improvement of our local programs for consulting staff, including:
Overseeing delivery of core learning journeys, including a two-week Consulting Foundations orientation program (run 4 x a year) and ongoing cohort-specific core training modules
Orchestrating our major annual learning days, for which we design a unique agenda each year – including Core Strength Day (all cohorts), Art of PL’ing (Project Leaders) and Senior Leaders Training Day
Owning strategic learning agendas (in 2023 will include refreshing trainings for our leaders in giving excellent feedback and apprenticeship), shaping further agendas as required
Owning the L&D calendar, including scheduling a regular slate of shorter optional trainings for each cohort (both existing modules, and overseeing design of new modules)
Building a strong internal facilitator cadre; guide, coach and provide feedback to internal facilitators to support their development and ensure we maintain excellent program quality
Exploring innovative use cases to deploy new digital tools to enhance our learning programs (e.g., Miro, EdCast, Attensi simulations)
Coordinating our cohort-specific coaching programs, including managing application processes, working with our external coaches, and exploring pilots to expand our coaching offer where possible
Evaluating the effectiveness of our programs (considering learner feedback, attendance trends, developmental trends, client needs, etc.) and implementing improvements as required
Lead broader L&D strategy, operations and team development, including:
Owning and monitoring the local L&D budget
Supporting broader L&D operations and reporting (e.g., using our SABA platform)
Lead and develop our high-performing L&D team; orchestrate opportunities for development
Manage relationships within our L&D and broader HR ecosystem, including:
Working with senior partners; e.g., on L&D strategic projects, agenda for senior leaders’ trainings
Coordinating our employee-led learning pods, to help them ideate, design and deliver new content
Working with ANZ and Asia Pacific BCG X colleagues to coordinate learner journey and experiences
Building relationships with Global and other systems L&D teams, coordinating on global learning journeys
Supporting broader HR initiatives as required (e.g. Conscious Inclusion training, wellbeing projects)
Establishing and negotiating engagement of external vendors as required

Strong organisational skills; able to oversee multiple projects and complex learning programs end-to-end

An enthusiasm to learn, take on new challenges, and flex to support our people agenda as needed
Confidence in digital tools (e.g., Zoom, Trello) and enthusiasm to innovate
Previous experience in a professional services context, ideally with some prior consulting experience
Previous experience working in an L&D or HR role, and/or executing significant people initiatives
Previous experience in learning design and/or facilitation; experience with instructional design preferred
Demonstrated communication skills; e.g., experiencing owning relationships with senior stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership skills, e.g., apprenticing and managing direct reports
Demonstrated project ownership skills – e.g., overseeing major projects/portfolios to deliver outcomes
