Boss Inc. is looking for a Head of HR for a client in Virginia Beach. The head of HR is responsible for effectively planning, designing, developing and evaluating human resource-related initiatives that support the company’s strategic goals. Primary areas of responsibility include strategic compensation and succession planning; performance management and appraisals; employee relations and retention; employee benefit plan design; employee orientation and ongoing, job-specific training and development programs; and profitable operation of the HR department. The person takes a leadership role in fostering a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the company’s vision and values.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Regularly reviews and makes recommendations to the executive leadership team for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters. Communicates changes in policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance.
· Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to employment matters.
· Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance.
· Analyzes wage and salary reports by market and develops compensation solutions to attract and retain high-performing associates and managers.
· Focuses on improvement of recruitment/retention strategy through: identification of talent pools; benchmarking against industry trends; successful on-boarding of new employees; career path development and succession planning that is integrated into the organization’s overall talent management strategy; performance management; and coordinating/evaluating exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
· Designs and delivers continuous, job-specific training programs.
· Oversees investigations related to misconduct, discrimination, sexual harassment and other personnel matters. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by executive management.
· Develops and maintains an HR information system that meets the organization’s needs.
· Conducts and analyzes annual Associate Opinion/Engagement Survey. Works with general managers to develop and implement actions plans that address results of the Associate Opinion Survey.
· Designs, delivers, and participates in dynamic associate engagement initiatives to build and foster a positive working environment.
· Assists in the design and implementation of employee benefit programs to attract and retain top talent.
· Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requires:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred
· SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or PHR certification
· Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources required
· Proficiency with Excel, Word and other PC computer applications required: HRIS and/or payroll database experience preferred
· Ability to read, write, interpret, and provide training on HR policies and procedures
· Ability to develop and utilize HR metrics to support change initiatives and improve organizational performance

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
