The Opportunity:
Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As a database administrator, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting our client's mission.
On our team, you’ll apply leading-edge principles and concepts to maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases on a day–to–day basis, design, implement, and manage databases and data delivery systems and transform them into insights, analysis, and reporting. Apply expertise in database design and implementation tools, including entity-relationship data modelling and SQL, distributed computing architectures, operating systems, storage technologies, memory management, and networking to create structure and value out of complex and ambiguous technical challenges with little guidance. Leverage expertise in structured and unstructured data, streaming and batch data processing, extract, transform, and load (ETL), data wrangling, data ingest, and data access. Maintain responsibility for backup and recovery operations for servers. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.

Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:

  • 8 years of experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of Oracle servers

  • Experience with database design and development

  • Experience in database administration on production servers with server configuration, monitoring, performance tuning and maintenance for outstanding troubleshooting capabilities, oracle replication, backup or recovery, and disaster recovery and planning

  • Experience with operating in traditional and agile project models

  • Experience in batch processes, import, export, backup, database monitoring tools, and application support setup of security policies, logical and physical data base modeling with UML and ERWIN tools

  • Experience analyzing SOPs and operations manuals, capacity planning, and identifying and resolving issues that could impact system performance, reliability, and usability proactively

  • Experience with managing, maintaining, patching, upgrading, and ensuring operational continuity of the Oracle Database Management System (DBMS) and associated components using Oracle products, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Recovery Manager, and Oracle RAC implementation

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree

  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), CompTIA Security CE, System Security Certified Practitioner, Cisco Certified Network Associate – Security (CCNA-Security), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with database architecture and implementation in a Cloud environment

  • Knowledge of government–wide system design, information technology equipment, and services

  • Knowledge of methodology, federal information system policies, including NIST 800.53, FISMA, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and configuration management, and federal agency missions and processes

  • Ability to grasp technical details at a system and component level

  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
