Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team as an Upgrade Specialist. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in upgrading our Oracle databases from version 12c to version 19c. This position requires expertise in Oracle database administration, with a focus on seamless migration and upgrading processes. This position is a 2 month contract and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

• Oracle Database Upgrade:
• Plan and execute the upgrade of Oracle databases from version 12c to version 19c.
• Conduct thorough pre-upgrade assessments and analyze existing database configurations for compatibility.
• Database Performance Tuning:
• Optimize database performance during and after the upgrade process.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal database responsiveness.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for the upgrade process.
• Perform backup testing to ensure data integrity and availability during the upgrade.
• Security and Compliance:
• Ensure that the upgraded databases comply with security standards and regulations.
• Implement security best practices and conduct regular audits post-upgrade.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Monitor the upgraded databases for any anomalies or issues.
• Conduct troubleshooting and resolve technical problems to ensure a stable database environment.
• Documentation:
• Create comprehensive documentation of the upgrade process, including configurations, settings, and procedures.
• Provide training and documentation for team members on managing the upgraded databases.
