Boarhog is seeking a conscientious, energetic Systems Engineer (Mid-level, Labor Code SY2) to become a "plank owner" member of a new multi-company Systems Engineering Team responsible for applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in the technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for complex solutions or products. Analyses are performed at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
LOCATION:
For the first three months of contract startup, estimated to commence in April 2023, (and possibly up to the first 6 months after startup), the full Systems Engineering team will initially be hosted in the Sterling VA facility, including being provided with desks, workstations, phones, SCIF space, classified and unclassified network access, clearance crossovers, etc. It is also possible that engineering positions could be hosted in the Sterling VA facility beyond the initial 6 months if desired. After the first 3 to 6 months the location requirement will be relaxed, with various locations open for consideration. This will be a seven (7) year single award contract.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all functional duties independently.
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and continuously validate those solutions through delivery.
- Assist more senior positions and/or perform functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years minimum. Education beyond the minimum may qualify as experience.
EDUCATION:
Minimum BA/BS in Engineering. Equivalent experience beyond the minimum may substitute for education (4 years for BA/BS).
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
- The position requires a TS/SCI clearance. As such, an acceptable candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance or TS clearance and be SCI Eligible, with a SF86 that's current within the calendar year. Boarhog's Facility Security Officer will request and receive the SCI Eligibility determination from vetting prior to Boarhog issuing a contingent offer letter.
- Preference will be given to candidates who reside in a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) area. See SBA website for HUBZone locations.
