Position Summary:
The basic function of the Account Manager is to assist the Senior Account Executive in all sales and marketing efforts concerning the Senior Account Executive’s clients. Needs are met or exceeded by assisting in the formation, development, and implementation of sales and marketing efforts for these clients daily. The Account Manager should work towards being a mentor and learning the company’s offerings in hopes of being promoted to an Account Executive position within the company.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Senior Account Executive in achieving the sales and profit goals established by Senior Management by routinely assisting in sales and marketing efforts, as well as providing customer service that ensures client satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that everyone understands that the client is their first priority and providing responses to requests as needed to ensure that each Account Executive is here to support that priority.
  • Serving and responding to clients in a pleasant and professional manner and ensuring that all client complaints are handled quickly.
  • Ability to understand and follow all Sales and Operations Department processes and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with Operation’s internal departments (i.e., Installation, Engineering, Service and Purchasing).
  • Working closely to support the Senior Account Executive in setting prices, developing promotions, offering discounts, and tailoring products and services to unique markets, in order to increase sales.
  • Protecting company assets by ensuring the accurate and secure operation of company equipment, invoices, and work orders, and the responsible and prudent handling of credit sales.
  • Being responsible for the implementation of Policy and Operating Procedures for the company that reflects the current methods of conducting business.
  • Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal laws and statutes regarding OSHA, labor laws, and other governmental regulations.
  • Constantly striving to increase product knowledge by:
    • Reading trade publications and vendor supplied materials
    • Attending sales training provided by vendor representatives
    • Attending conventions, seminars, and other meetings to enhance professional knowledge and to promote the company when possible.
  • Staying updated on the events in the industry and marketplace in order to take advantage of short and long-term opportunities.
  • Fulfilling other duties and projects that may be assigned from time to time by the Sales Supervisor.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. A college degree in business or another applicable field is preferred.
  • Experience in the AV industry with customer service and Account Executive support.
  • Strong understanding of following through with AV sales and service.
  • Sound knowledge of the AV industry including how subsequent trends impact these industries and businesses, or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
  • At least 2 years of sales experience in assisting multiple Account Executives with an approximate volume of $1,500,000 in gross sales within the AV industry.
  • Outstanding client service.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret sales reports, legal documents, and industry/trade magazines.
  • Ability to professionally respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community.
  • Ability to navigate and efficiently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office product is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
