JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven HR Director to join the agency at its headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
The HR Director will provide both strategic and tactical leadership for all aspects of the human resources function. The primary responsibilities will include employee relations, talent management, leadership development, performance management, compensation and benefits, recruitment and retention, training and development, and communications. The HR Director also oversees the facilities operations of BBBSMA's headquarters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to think outside-of-the box and deliver creative solutions.

  • Ability to coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.

  • Ability to handle confidential materials and information appropriately, while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Experience with HCM systems (Paycom) preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient to expert user of MS Office applications
  • Proficient with key online recruiting tools (LinkedIn, indeed, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research and trends into strategy.
  • Strong skills in management and leadership
  • Experience cultivating, hiring, and managing a high-performing team.
  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude
  • Exceptional verbal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize multiple requests.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Originate and lead HR strategies, initiatives, and practices for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, with collaboration of the senior BBBSMA leadership.
  • Develop and overseeongoing activities around employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, company benefit plans, compensation plans, vacation and holiday plans, and training.
  • Oversee the HR & Facilities Operations team, including an HR Coordinator and part-time Facilities Operations Specialist, including oversight of daily workflow and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee performance management, training and organizationaldevelopment.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, employee terminations, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Facilitate annual performance management, goal setting, employee development, and compensation review processes.
  • Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across the organization to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Manage employee training including tracking and facilitation of critical training curriculum and professional development.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and are following professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws.
  • Serves as a change agent in the organization by championing new HR programs and practices to continuously increase levels of employee engagement and the organization's capacity.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Four-year degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Behavioral Science
  • 5 years' HR-related experience
  • 3 years Operations related experience
  • Professional Human Resource (PHR, SPHR, SHRM) certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HCM systems (Paycom) preferred.
  • Strong HR knowledge in Non-Profit agencies
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Routine office environment. Hybrid work schedule, ideally 3 days in the office, 2 days' work from home.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • Base salary is budgeted between $65,000 75,000, based on experience.
  • BBBSMA offers generous benefits including subsidized medical insurance, voluntary dental and vision, and employer paid Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability. We also offer immediate vesting and enrollment in a 403(b) plan with up to a 4.5% employer match. Ample paid time off and Summer Fridays are also provided.
