Better Business Bureau is Hiring a Business Relationship Specialist Near Fresno, CA

Job Title: Business Relationship Specialist

Reports to: Director of Business Services

Classification: Non-Exempt

Compensation Range: $17.00-$19.00/hr

Additional Compensation: Commissions and Bonuses Based on Performance

Purpose: This key representative of BBB manages the entirety of the relationship with Assigned Accredited Businesses through sales, retention and marketing efforts designed to maintain and increase accredited businesses, program participation and revenue as well as selling innovative programs and sponsorships to Accredited Businesses of BBB and other qualifying companies in our service area.

Environment: Better Business Bureau is a non-profit accredited business organization (501C6) and manages a Foundation (501c3) that provides for mediation services. The headquarters are located in Fresno with a branch office in Bakersfield and services customers in 11 counties of Central California and Inland Empire Counties by providing business profiles on companies, advertising review and dispute resolution through conciliation, mediation and arbitration.

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management, as appropriate, may modify this job description.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Follow established account management timeline for each new and renewing AB to build and support relationships with Accredited Businesses.

2. Effectively implement selling innovative programs and sponsorships to Accredited Businesses of BBB and other qualifying companies in our service area to achieve accredited business growth and revenue goals.

3. Develop and become knowledgeable of all BBB programs and services offered to businesses and the general public.

4. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of sponsorships and programs of BBB, develop and implement strong customer base for sponsorships and programs and, ensure high productivity.

5. Effective communication tools including telephone skills and effective in person selling.

6. Have knowledge of computer technology and software applications for Microsoft applications and become knowledgeable with BBB data base Interactive Blue.

7. Participate in effective marketing and advertising efforts as well as make suggestions to enhance programs.

8. Provide and maintain accurate accredited business records by updating information on the computer and in file form.

9. Provide for effective selling, marketing and networking by attending events, including but not limited to trade shows and other events. Represent BBB at community functions.

10. Prepare written material for sales if necessary.

11. Participate in department meetings.

12. Build strong and lasting relationships with Accredited Businesses. Assist team members in strategy for deepening and/or retaining ABs towards ensuring 85% or higher overall retention.

13. Conduct in person meetings with Accredited Businesses..

Supportive duties and responsibilities:

1. Support other staff as needed

2. Provide customer service to accredited businesses and the public if needed

3. Provide for accurate accredited business records by updating information on the computer and in file form.

Education/Experience

1. B.A. degree or equivalent in education and experience desired.

2. Minimum 2 years experience in sales/marketing or other direct contact in a sales-related organization

Qualifications

1. CA drivers license

2. Computer literate MS Office products

3. Customer Service focus

4. Bi Lingual requested but not required

5. Proof of auto insurance

Physical Requirements

Must be able to observe people and processes and provide feedback; read and understand written material on the internet, computer, hard copy; able to compare statistical reports from a number of sources; able to read and see ad copy, and to recommend advertisements; able to speak to large groups to present information regarding the Bureau; research, design, recommend accredited businesses and advertising material; able to read, listen to “scams”, communicate by phone and in person; listen and understand issues and people. Must be able to enter data, write reports. Some lifting, bending, stooping, stretching and reaching as needed to move supplies and materials

Working Remotely

This position offers an opportunity to work “remotely” part-of-the-time with required days in the office. Schedule must include consideration of being in the office to accommodate job duties as needed.

Note: Working remotely is dependent on meeting requirements of equipment and services. An evaluation will be done prior to offering working remotely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,360.00 - $39,520.00 per year
