BLDM USA LLC is seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and hands-on mechanical project manager with experience in water/wastewater construction projects. Candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience. Estimating skills, understanding of all building trades materials and methods with a special emphasis on Mechanical, and Piping trades.

Candidate will report to the Project Executive Director. Candidate will be working directly with the Project Engineer or Superintendent with the possibility of managing field staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  include the following, among others. Other duties may be assigned on an individual basis.

• Conduct daily project walks.
• Work with Safety Officer to establish Site Specific Safety Plans
• Coordinate and review Job Hazard Analysis and High-Risk activities with Safety Officer and entire construction team
• Complies, understands, and supports corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
• Identify, track, and manage scope and change orders both Owner/Client and Subcontractors
• Prepare and present Owner/Client change orders in a timely and complete manner.
• Route and approve subcontractor and material invoices.
• Prepare Owner/Client and internal project updates monthly.
• Execute Owner/Client and subcontractor financial close-out.

• Develop, track, and manage RFI, Submittal and Change Order Logs
• Generate action item lists and follow-through to completion.
• Coordinate and update Master Drawing Set and logs
• Distribute project drawings, addenda, design changes, RFIs, submittals and documentation to extended team.
• Prepare, monitor, and update Master Schedule

• Work with Project Superintendent to identify project progress to date.
• Identify potential project impacts and proposed solutions.

• Conduct weekly Subcontractor Meeting with Project Superintendent
• Attend and contribute to weekly Owner and Contractor meetings.
• Present RFI, Submittal and Change Order Logs
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and project documents to extended team.

• Utilize engineering background to identify field issues and suggest potential alternates.
• Review subcontractor and vendor drawings and submittals for adherence to plans and specifications.
• Conduct coordination meetings with Engineers and multiple subcontractor trades
• Interface with Engineers to efficiently resolve technical issues and convey information to field and entire team.
• Manages, motivates, teaches, and mentors direct reports.

• Coordinates with Estimators to establish budget.
• Coordinates efforts to manage resources to meet project schedule.
• Leads Construction Management process by providing opportunities to anticipate potential problems, facilitate innovative approaches, nurture relationships, and create a positive work environment.
• Coordinates to develop comprehensive plan for project start up and successful kick-off.
• Provides an environment where dynamic project communication occurs between Project Engineers and Superintendents to ensure work is accomplished in an efficient, profitable, and safe manner.
• Establishes and maintain working relationships, providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base.
• Ensures accurate construction reports for the job allowing for continuous improvement in performance.
• Manages flow of critical information to all team members in a timely manner
• Develops strategies, supervises and problem solving with project team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provides guidance for effective planning, design, contract, and resource development.
• Manages pre-construction with client to achieve construction budget.
• Advise on Value Engineering opportunities for potential cost savings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• 5 years’ experience in Field Construction
• Bilingual English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Strong abilities using technology, computers, and Word and Excel.
• Project Management Skills, with strong planning, monitoring, and supervisory skills.
