The HR Coordinator is the first point of contact for employees visiting the Human Resources office, welcoming faculty, staff and prospective employees and providing them with general HR assistance. This exciting position provides an opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in various aspects of Human Resources.This key role also provides substantial HR support through data entry, information management, requests, and other related duties.
Data Entry and Managing Data and Information Requests:
Enters employee information into Commonwealth of Massachusetts' compensation management system (HR/CMS)
Assists in retrieving data from database or files for reporting purposes and audits
May assist with background check process
Provides Administrative Support to HR Office and Staff:
Prepares routine and special announcements and correspondence and tracks responses, as necessary with respect to training, evaluations, remote requests and other general HR items
Updates and maintains online faculty & staff directory and Organizational charts
Distributes office mail (physically or by electronic means); prepares documents for mailing
Assist with job postings online and to advertising partners
May need to schedule meetings using Outlook as well as take notes/minutes for meetings as needed
Assist with collection of onboarding documentation
General Office Duties:
Monitors front desk, office telephone/voicemail and general HR email account
Creates new, updates and maintains employee personnel and medical files both paper and digital
Maintains currency of employee records, files documents, and archives files as appropriate, and ensures file integrity and completeness. Photocopies, scans, emails and mails documents and performs other related duties
Job Requirements:
Required Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma/GED or higher required
Excellent oral and written skills
Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
Understanding of HR principles, practices and procedures, or a strong willingness to learn
Willingness to ask questions, learn new systems and tasks
Ability to organize, file and sort records to a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Ability to maintain and protect confidential and sensitive information exercising the highest degree of discretion
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
The ability and motivation to learn new information systems and processes as required
Proven ability to function well in a fast-paced and sometimes deadline-driven environment
Proven ability to remain professional, have strong interpersonal skills and good humor throughout the workday
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
HR/CMS Database or similar HRIS Database
Interview Exchange or other applicant tracking system
Experience in Human Resources, Payroll or in a Higher Education setting

Salary: $52,000 - $58,000 per year; Full-time; Benefited
